  • Starting this week, XRP holders will take focus on key dates in regard to the ongoing lawsuit against US-based technology company Ripple.
  • Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse revealed that he expects the SEC Vs. Ripple case is to come to an end in early 2023.

After two years, the SEC lawsuit against Ripple and its executive is drawing closer to an end. In fact, according to Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, one of the accused of selling unregistered securities in the form of XRP tokens, he expects the case to come to a conclusion in early 2023.

Given the all-around optimism, XRP has been one of the best-performing digital assets in the market. In the last 30 days, the token has reached a high of $0.55 with holders still expecting the token to climb well over $1.00 if RIpple wins its case. XRP has an all-time high price of $3.84 reached about 5 years ago. With most altcoins reaching a new all-time high early this year, XRP holders have maintained that the SEC case that led to most exchanges halting or delisting XRP has held its price down.

As CNF recently reported, Ripple has been getting massive support from XRP supporters with the number of XRP holders joining Attorney John Deaton’s class action lawsuit against the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) crossing 75,000. The plaintiffs blame the SEC for losses to the tune of billions for losses incurred as a result of the SEC going after Ripple and its executives.

As shared by defense lawyer James K. Filan, there are several key dates coming this October and on to the end of the year. These are potential makers or breakers for Ripple and will weigh into the final judgment of the XRP case.

According to the lawyer, it all begins on October 18th when all parties file all materials relating to oppositions to summary judgment motions temporarily under seal. Two days after, all parties meet and confer to identify redactions sought by each side to the opposition briefs. On the 24th of this month, parties will file public, redacted versions of the opposition briefs, making only those provisional redactions requested by the parties during the meet and confer. With these, the XRP community will get better insights into the case with some sealed and redacted materials set to be made public.

November and December are also highlighted with three and two respectively key dates. For instance, on November 15th, parties will file summary judgment reply briefs temporarily under seal. Other key dates include November 21st, December 9th, and December 22nd.
