Former US President Donald Trump will still be speaking at the Bitcoin 2024 conference despite the July 13 assassination attempt in Pennsylvania.

David Bailey, one of the event’s organizers and the CEO of Bitcoin Magazine, shared in a July 14 post on X that he spoke with the president’s team and that Trump is “in good spirits.”

The former President is also excited to see everyone at the event and “deliver a speech that is heard around the world,” the organizer added.

Bitcoin 2024 One Of The Biggest BTC Conferences

Bitcoin 2024, to be held in Nashville, Tennessee between July 25 and July 27, is one of the largest annual Bitcoin conferences globally, and saw approximately 12,000 people in attendance last year.

But there was speculation over whether Trump would still participate after a bullet clipped his ear during a campaign rally on July 13.

After the failed assassination attempt, the former president was quickly rushed away by the Secret Service in an armored vehicle. The FBI has since identified the gunman as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.

Elon Musk Questions Whether Secret Service Was Incompetent To Allow Shooting

Shortly after the shooting, tech billionaire and X owner Elon Musk questioned in a July 14 post if the recent shooting was a sign of the Secret Service’s “extreme incompetence.”

He also retweeted a post by X user Jack Poso who asked how a sniper with a full rifle kit was allowed to “bear crawl onto the closest roof to a presidential nominee.” Musk subsequently called for the resignation of the Secret Service’s leadership.
