Ripple has opened a new office in Toronto, Canada, that will serve as a key engineering hub to drive crypto innovation. The office will be the first-ever one in Canada that displays Ripple’s expansion in North America and further.

The firm also plans to recruit 50 engineers, initially in Toronto. The main aim is to expand the office to include hundreds of blockchain engineers spread across data scientists, machine learning scientists, and product managers.

“Ripple’s globally-renowned, innovative technology, and first-mover attitude will be a perfect fit for the diverse, entrepreneurial, and committed spirit of Toronto.”

Ripple plans to hire hundreds globally

“Crypto is one of the most thrilling industries to work in, so it’s no surprise that talent is leaving tech incumbents and traditional finance to enter this space. We are continuing to scale and invest in our business by expanding our presence globally with our first office in Toronto.”

CEO of Ripple, Brad Garlinghouse

The first office in Toronto marks the company’s plan to expand globally. Amidst the turbulent market conditions, crypto companies are on a lay-off spree. Prominent firms have cited harsh market conditions triggered by rising inflation.

In the midst of all, Ripple’s vision rests on global expansion and bringing in world-class talent. The ultimate aim of the firm will be to serve its customers with better innovation. Ripple launched additional offices in significant places like Miami and Dublin last year, and it intends to recruit hundreds of workers globally by the year 2022.

Toronto, which is already a prominent tech hub, will display a robust commitment of Ripple to build crypto innovation.

“I’m thrilled that Ripple is putting down roots in Toronto where we know the company will be able to benefit from the highly skilled technical talent, booming ecosystem, and competitive economic advantages the Region offers.”

John Tory, Mayor of the City of Toronto
