This billion-$-company to support Shibarium to pave the way for mass adoption of SHIB and the whole ecosystem

• NOWPayments is set to embrace and integrate Shibarium into its payment rail.
• This partnership is the first of its kind and will feature other core Shibarium tokens.

Netherlands-based cryptocurrency payment gateway NOWPayments has hinted at plans to support the Shiba Inu (SHIB) ecosystem by integrating Shibarium. Once successful, NOWPayments would become the first payment gateway to achieve the feat. For now, the NOWPayments team is waiting for the Layer-2 network to go live on the mainnet. 

Once that happens and the integration process is completed, the payment gateway’s tech team will swing into action to understand how to adopt the blockchain network. 

Then NOWPayments would begin to support tokens and projects on Shibarium. Markedly, the integration of Shibarium will be the birth of a new era for the payment platform, especially with the more convenient services it offers. 

The layer-2 protocol on Ethereum is expected to deliver faster transaction speed at lower fees. These transactions will be delivered most securely and transparently as possible. 

At the same time, it would open up a platform for developers to experience true decentralization. Specifically, this would be achieved by allowing them to design decentralized applications (DApps) including Shib the Metaverse and Shiba Eternity. 

NOWPayments Long Term Partnership With Shiba Inu

The launch of Shibarium testnet has been floated for quite some time now. However, NOWPayments inked the partnership with Shiba Inu’s Shibarium tech about two weeks ago after receiving a positive response on its application from Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer and the face of the Shiba Inu ecosystem. 

The aim of the alliance was generally to improve crypto adoption on the L2 network. 

Shiba Inu recorded the partnership as a positive development for its ecosystem. This is because its users will also gain access to a secure payment gateway which is versatile in terms of the cryptocurrencies accepted on the platform. Noteworthy, this was not NOWPayments’ first collaboration with the Shiba Inu brand. The payment platform showed its support for the SHIB token in 2021.

LEASH support and BONE listing are a few of the projects which both entities have jointly worked on since their time together. 

Also, NOWPayments joined hands with the International Women of Blockchain (IWB) and SHIB The Metaverse in March to push for gender diversity in the cryptosphere. For this collaboration, NOWPayments was used more as a source for donations.
