- The founder of Cardano, Charles Hoskinson, has taken to Twitter to congratulate the entire Polygon community, after the network successfully launched the long awaited Polygon zkEVM Mainnet Beta.
- Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum has carried out the first ever transaction on the Polygon zkEVM Mainnet Beta, and left a notable message afterwards.
After the network successfully launched the highly anticipated Polygon zkEVM protocol, all eyes are now on Polygon. Many key figures have acknowledged how significant the milestone is for Polygon and the Ethereum network.
Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano has dropped some positive comments for the Polygon community. Taking to Twitter, Hoskinson congratulated the Polygon community. He further remarked that it was very cool to see innovation like Polygon’s in the crypto and blockchain industry.
Congratulations to the Polygon community. It’s really cool to see innovation like this in the industry https://t.co/3F1PeD6FPm

His reaction comes after Vitalik Buterin carried out the first-ever transaction on Polygon zkEVM. The transaction came with a message from the Ethereum founder. Millions of constraints for man, unconstrained scalability for mankind
In an official blogspot, Polygon detailed the protocol launch, stating the zkEVM protocol is entirely open-source. The blogpost reads:
Today, Polygon Labs is proud to announce that Polygon zkEVM is launching on Mainnet Beta. Polygon zkEVM Mainnet Beta is permissionless and public–anyone can use it to transact and build. And as of today, Polygon zkEVM is also completely open-source. This is a momentous occasion for Polygon, for Ethereum, and for all of Web3.
What Polygon zkEVM has to offer
Polygon also stressed that among EVM-equivalent ZK scaling solutions, Polygon zkEVM is superior. Polygon zkEVM’s public testnets have now made it possible for battle-testing to be carried out on Polygon zkEVM. This has made it more affordable, faster and cheaper. Polygon asserted.
Ethereum co-creator Vitalik Buterin has already performed the symbolic first transaction on Polygon zkEVM Mainnet Beta. Polygon zkEVM’s public testnets established Polygon zkEVM as the leader among EVM-equivalent ZK scaling solutions. The testnets also allowed Polygon zkEVM to be battle-tested, becoming faster, cheaper, and more secure along the way.
With the launch of the Polygon ZkEVM, which features EVM-equivalence, users can build on, and use the protocol like Ethereum, without box, without changing languages or tooling.
Infrastructure providers, dApps, and gaming projects are already taking advantage of Polygon zkEVM, and are already launching on the Mainnet Beta.

Polygon has also reiterated that it is focused on preserving security at launch and beyond. Polygon zkEVM is going to “have a series of Polygon zkEVM”. Said security measures will be introduced at two different stages. The first stage of the Mainnet Beta will see the introduction of a dedicated Security Council that will swiftly upgrade Polygon zkEVM.
The second stage will see a series of measures taken to make sure that users are fully protected in case anything goes wrong.
